While the forecast of heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions in Washington D.C. set to begin during the Jan. 22 March for Life caused several groups from Boston to cancel travel plans, more than 200 people from the Archdiocese of Boston made the journey to attend the annual pro-life event.

Groups travelling to the march included three bus-loads of parishioners from East Boston, Lynn and Lawrence led by friars of the Franciscans of the Primitive Observance as well as seminarians from Boston's St. John's and Redemptoris Mater seminarians.

Following the annual tradition, the Boston pilgrims gathered with Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley for a Mass at Sacred Heart Shrine on the morning of the march, before proceeding to the National Mall for a rally and the march up Constitution Ave. to the U.S. Supreme Court.
