Father Roger Jacques cleared of abuse allegation
BRIGHTON -- The Archdiocese of Boston announced Dec. 18 that it has fully restored Father Roger Jacques as a priest in good standing.
Father Jacques was placed on administrative leave in October 2002 due to a single allegation of sexual abuse of a minor approximately 20 years earlier. The allegation was found to be unsubstantiated and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has confirmed this finding.
In making today’s announcement Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley expressed his continued concern for all persons impacted by the sexual abuse crisis and reiterated his firm intention to resolve cases of this type in a manner that is just for all parties.
