St. John’s Seminary holds 2nd annual alumni event
BRIGHTON-- More than 130 alumni gathered at St. John’s Seminary for an evening of prayer, fellowship and conversations Oct. 27. The evening’s festivities began with tours of the seminary. Some alumni had not been back since it was renovated from 1997-1999. Seminarians served as hosts, and had the opportunity to meet and speak with their predecessors. Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley led the community at its daily holy hour and was assisted by the seminary schola. Afterwards, at the reception, Dr. Janet Hunt, the seminary’s director of music and organist, along with two colleagues, performed chamber music. Cardinal O’Malley highlighted the joy of welcoming so many priests, one of whom had not been back to St. John’s in 55 years. Alumni traveled from every New England state, and some came from as far as the Vermont/Canadian border.
