Following is a summary of the Catholic high school graduations around the archdiocese. The Pilot extends congratulations to all graduates of the class of 2006.
Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro
Graduation took place on Sunday, May 21. Kelly McCarthy delivered the salutatory address and Lauren Boucher, the valedictory address. Sister Mary Farren, principal, presented diplomas to 51 graduates.
Archbishop Williams High School, Braintree
On Sunday morning, May 21, the 54th commencement took place at the school. Diplomas were presented to 156 graduates. The salutatorian address was presented by Jamie Harris and the valedictory address by Sylvania Tse. Dan J. McMorrow, founder of the Bayside Home Mortgage Corp. addressed the graduates.
Arlington Catholic High School, Arlington
At an evening Mass at St. Agnes Church, Arlington Catholic celebrated its 43rd commencement on Friday, May 26. The salutatory address was given by Aaron Ahlstrom and the valedictory address by Ariana Ghome. Father Brian M. Flatley presented diplomas to 175 graduates as principal Stephen Biagioni called out the names.
Austin Preparatory, Reading
The 41st commencement took place on Sunday afternoon, May 21. Diplomas were presented to 115 graduates. Delivering the salutatory address was Katherine Alfieri and the valedictory address, Emily Biberger. Father Richard McGowan, SJ of the BC School of Management delivered the keynote address.
Bishop Fenwick High School, Peabody
The 44th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 26. Diplomas were presented to 207 graduates. The salutatory address was given by Wendy Wong and the valedictory address by Michelle HyunJu Lee.
Boston College High School, Boston
The 142nd commencement took place on Sunday afternoon, May 21. As is the custom of the school, the class of 1956 led off the procession into McNiece Pavilion. An invited speaker for the occasion was Mr. Kenneth Hackett ‘64, president of Catholic Relief Services. Diplomas were presented to 293 graduates.
Cardinal Spellman High School, Brockton
On the grounds of Potvin Field, Spellman High celebrated its 45th commencement on Wednesday evening, May 24. Delivering the salutatory address was Deirdre Manning and the valedictory address, Kevin Rosario. Lawrence J. Lordi ‘68, an executive with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, addressed the graduates. Diplomas were presented to 141 graduates.
Cathedral High School, South End
The 80th commencement took place on Saturday morning, June 3 at the cathedral. Delivering the student address was graduate Jessica Faiteau. Mrs. Christol Murch, principal, presented diplomas to 67 graduates.
Catholic Memorial High School, West Roxbury
Rain prevented the graduates from filing into Holy Name Church from outside on Friday evening, May 26 for CM’s 46th commencement. Brother James J. MacDonald presented diplomas to 140 graduates. The salutatory address was given by Matthew D. Lepardo and the valedictory address by Christopher T. Blakely.
Central Catholic High School, Lawrence
The 68th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 26. Graduates from the class of 1946 and 1956 attended the exercises. Diplomas were presented to 272 graduates. The salutatory address was delivered by Julianne Cargill and the valedictory address by Gina M. Policelli.
Elizabeth Seton Academy, Dorchester
The 2nd commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 25 at St. Gregory Church. Addressing the graduates was Lt. Gov. Kerry Healy. Samantha Baker delivered the valedictory address. Dr. Maureen T. White, principal, presented diplomas to 15 graduates.
Fontbonne Academy, Milton
The sun shone brightly for the 49th commencement on the evening of Thursday, May 25. Delivering the student address was Djevna Neptune. Dr. Anne Malone, president and a Fontbonne alumna, delivered the keynote address and presented diplomas to 154 graduates.
Hudson Catholic High School, Hudson
Graduation exercises took place on Friday, May 26 at St. Michael Church. Delivering the salutatory address was Stacy Jakubowicz and the valedictory address, Caitlin Murphy. Diplomas were presented to 56 graduates.
Lowell Catholic High School, Lowell
The 17th commencement took place on Friday evening, June 2 at St. Michael Church. The salutatory address was given by Trang Vu and the valedictory address by Kim-Loan Nguyen. Both were awarded four-year Medeiros Scholarships to Boston University. Addressing the graduates was state Sen. Steven Panagiotakos. Diplomas were presented to 54 graduates.
Malden Catholic High School, Malden
The 70th commencement took place on Saturday, May 20 at the school’s gymnasium. Members of the class of 1956 attended. Michael Mattera delivered the salutatory address and David McMahon delivered the valedictory address. Mr. Tom Arria, principal, presented diplomas to 176 graduates
Marian High School, Framingham
The 47th commencement took place on Friday, May 26. Samantha Osborn delivered the valedictory address and Stefanie Barry delivered the valedictory address. Sister Catherine Clifford, principal, presented diplomas to 49 graduates.
Matignon High School, Cambridge
The 58th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 26 at the school. Members of the class of 1956 attended. The valedictory address was delivered by Sarah Hammond. Donald Dabenigno, principal, presented diplomas to 113 graduates.
Mount Alvernia High School, Newton
On the front lawn of the school, Mount Alvernia held its 67th commencement on Saturday afternoon, May 20. Alison McNulty delivered the salutatory address and Sara Crandall delivered the valedictory address. Mrs. Kathleen Kent, principal, presented diplomas to 36 graduates.
Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Brighton
The 121st commencement took place on Wednesday evening, May 25 at the school assembly hall. Barbara Hernon delivered the salutatory address and Genevieve Carmel delivered the valedictory address. Mrs. Kathleen Fraser, principal, presented diplomas to 53 graduates.
Newton Country Day School, Newton
The 126th commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 8 on the grounds of the school. Addressing her classmates was graduate Ellen Hannon. Sister Barbara Rogers, headmistress, presented diplomas to 53 graduates.
North Cambridge Catholic High School,
Cambridge
The 85th commencement took place on Friday afternoon, June 2 at St. John the Evangelist Church. The salutatory address was delivered by Virgilio Garcia and the valedictory address by Melanie Araujo. Sister Ellen Powers, president, presented diplomas to 39 graduates. Thomas P. O’Neill, III a 1962 graduate of North Cambridge Catholic addressed the graduates and paid tribute to Sister Ellen as she ends 25 years at the school. She will be assuming a leadership position with the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Notre Dame Academy, Hingham
Clad in full-length white gowns and gold medallion necklaces, 127 girls filed into the school assembly hall for the 139th commencement on Sunday afternoon, June 4. The salutatory address was given by Julie Ann Gilbody and the valedictory address by Margaret Pilczak.
Our Lady of Nazareth Academy, Wakefield
Graduation took place on Thursday, May 25. Abigail Shaughnessy, senior class president, delivered the student address. Diplomas were presented to 45 graduates.
Pope John XXIII High School, Everett
The 37th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 25 in the school auditorium. Amanda Kearney delivered the salutatory address and Danielle Bacon the valedictory address. Dr. William Fitzgerald, headmaster, presented diplomas to 116 graduates.

Graduation took place on Friday, May 26. Stacy Gentile delivered the salutatory address and Ashley Gobab, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 56 graduates.
Sacred Heart High School, Kingston
Graduation took place on Saturday, May 27 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was given by Christine Kang and the valedictory address by Greta Wicklund. Michael League, a 1999 graduate of Sacred Heart, addressed the graduates as well. Mr. John F. Enos III, principal, presented diplomas to 95 graduates.
Savio Prep High School, East Boston
The 45th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 25. The salutatory address was presented by Nicole Fitzgerald and the valedictory address by Meaghan Dempsey. Addressing the graduates was Gavin Monagle, a 1985 Savio graduate and past head football coach. Headmaster John McHugh presented diplomas to 72 graduates.
St. Clement High School, Somerville
Graduation took place on Friday evening, May 26 at St. Clement Church. Jessica Garofalo delivered the salutatory address and Kershny Gedeon, the valedictory address. Mr. Robert Chervier, principal, presented diplomas to 30 graduates.
St. John Preparatory School, Danvers
The 96th commencement took place on Sunday morning, May 21 at Gibbons Field. Members of the class of 1956 attended. Kreg Moccia delivered the salutatory address and Alex Berrian, the valedictory address. Mr. Raymond Carey ‘67, a retiring member of the faculty for 29 years addressed the graduates. Dr. Albert Shannon, headmaster, presented diplomas to 246 graduates.
St. Mary High School, Lynn
An evening graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 25 at St. Mary Church. Kaitlan Kaminski delivered the salutatory address and Charles Stagno-Scotto, the valedictory address. Mr. Carl DiMaiti presented diplomas to 94 graduates.
St. Sebastian Country Day School, Needham
The 62nd commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 1 at St. Bartholomew Church. G. Andrew Conway delivered the salutatory address and David A. Gusella, the valedictory address. Mr. William Burke, principal, presented diplomas to 63 graduates.
Trinity Catholic High School, Newton
Graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 25 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Two students delivered the salutatory address: Rebecca Harrington and Chris Molinaro. Lauren Davis delivered the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 43 graduates.
Ursuline Academy, Dedham
Graduation took place on Sunday afternoon, June 4. Leah Gunning delivered the salutatory address and Christian Thomas, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 63 graduates.

The 40th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 12 in the school gymnasium. Robert Brennan delivered the salutatory address and Peter Breen, the valedictory address. Brother Daniel E. Skala, CFX presented diplomas to 251 graduates.
