Congratulations, graduates of the Class of 2019
As the school year comes to an end, The Pilot congratulates all the members of the class of 2019 who graduated from Catholic high schools within the Archdiocese of Boston. This year's roundup of commencement exercises is presented alphabetically by school.
Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro
The 165th commencement took place on Saturday morning, June 1, on the grounds of the school. Anoutsa Latsapanya delivered the salutatory address and Elena Murguia the valedictory. Diplomas were presented to 36 graduates.
Archbishop Williams, Braintree
The 67th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 23, in the school assembly hall. Elizabeth Saltzman delivered the salutatory address and Annika Gregg, the valedictory. Also addressing the graduates was David McGrath '77 and class president Eoin Varden. Diplomas were presented to 126 graduates.
Arlington Catholic High School
Graduation took place on Thursday, May 23, at Bentley University. Patrick J. Browne delivered the salutatory address and Andra Maria Preda, the valedictory. Addressing the graduates was Dr. Marice Edouard-Vincent '90. Diplomas were presented to 130 graduates.
Austin Prep, Reading
The 53rd commencement took place on Saturday afternoon, May 25. Alexia Andrikopoulos delivered the salutatory address and Kelsey Sherriff the valedictory. Addressing the graduates was the Honorable Daniel F. Loughry '69. Diplomas were presented to 130 graduates.
Bishop Fenwick, Peabody
The 57th commencement took place on Friday, May 24, at Gordon College in Wenham. Elizabeth Donahue presented the salutatory address and Kailee Fitzpatrick, the valedictory. The prestigious Bishop Fenwick award was presented to Madison Woods and Brendan Mirra. Diplomas were presented to 164 graduates.
Boston College High School
The 155th commencement took place on Sunday, May 19, in McNeice Pavillion. The welcome address was presented by Owen Concannon and the senior address by Chase Thomas. Members of the Class of 1969 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas. Delivering the commencement address was the retiring principal, Mr. Stephen Hughes '73. Diplomas were presented to 253 graduates.
Cardinal Spellman High School, Brockton
Under a tent erected for the occasion on Potvin Field, the 58th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 23. The salutatory address was presented by Sam Larue and the valedictory by Julie Vu. Diplomas were presented to 121 graduates.
Cathedral High School, Boston
The 88th commencement took place on Saturday morning, June 1, at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The salutatory address was presented by Armani Yasin Lamin and the valedictory by Samuel Cintra. Mr. Cintra was also presented with the Vigor in Arduis Award. Members of the Class of 1969 attended and were presented with golden jubilee diplomas. Diplomas were presented to 69 graduates.
Catholic Memorial, West Roxbury
The 59th commencement took place on Thursday, May 23, at Holy Name Church. Delivering the salutatory address was Benjamin F. Chipman and the valedictory, Anthony J. Consigli. Diplomas were presented to 118 graduates.
Central Catholic High School, Lawrence
The 81st commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 23, at Memorial Gym. Delivering the salutatory address was Maria T. Graziano and Natalia I. Clark, the valedictory. Miss Graziano was also presented the Brother Florentius, FMS, Memorial Award. Members of the Class of 1969 attended the ceremony. Diplomas were presented to 275 graduates.
Cristo Rey, Boston
Commencement took place on Saturday morning, June 8, at Boston College High School. Aiden J. Murphy delivered the salutatory address and Kyaralind V. Liriano, the valedictory. Diplomas were presented to 81 graduates.
Fontbonne Academy, Milton
The 62nd commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 23, on the grounds of the school under a tent erected for the occasion. Addressing their classmates as honor student speakers was Samantha Nicole Bethoney and Gina Marie Pasciuto. Also addressing the graduates was Mary Louise Larkin '69. Diplomas were presented to 79 graduates.
Lowell Catholic High School
The 30th commencement took place on Thursday, May 23, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. Caleb Craig delivered the salutatory address and Kimberlie Janescko the valedictory. The St. Francis Xavier Award was presented to Emily Jussaume. Diplomas were presented to 106 graduates.
Malden Catholic High School
The 84th commencement took place on Saturday, May 18, at the school. Delivering the salutatory address was Harrison Jumper and the valedictory, James Mawn. Nicholas Scarpello was presented the prestigious Xaverian Award. Addressing the graduates was headmaster and acting Principal Brother Tom Puccio. Diplomas were presented to 111 graduates.
Matignon High School, Cambridge
The 71st commencement took place on Thursday, May 23, in the school assembly hall. Two students delivered the salutatory address: Isabella Drago and Bryn Siegel. The valedictory address was presented by Jesse Kapstad. Members of the Class of 1969 attended the ceremony. Diplomas were presented to 119 graduates.
Mount Alvernia High School, Newton
The 90th commencement took place on Saturday, May 18, on the front lawn of the school. Florencia Cortez delivered the salutatory address and Grace Madeya, the valedictory address. Diplomas were presented to 37 girls.
Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart
The 139th commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 6, on the grounds of the school under a tent erected for the happy occasion. Delivering the salutatory address was Christina Conforti and the valedictory, Julia Dubuque. Also, addressing her classmates was Grace Zhou. The commencement address was presented by Nancy F. Koehn, author and business historian at Harvard Business School. Diplomas were presented to 50 graduates.
Notre Dame Academy, Hingham
The 166th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 17. Delivering the salutatory address was Marguerite Baron and the valedictory, Katherine Donahue Carroll. The student address was presented by Caroline Coates. Addressing the graduates was Ms. Erin McDonough '82. Diplomas were presented to 98 graduates.
Notre Dame Cristo Rey, Lawrence
Graduation took place on Saturday morning, June 8, at St. Mary Church in Lawrence. Delivering the salutatory address was Annie Adames-Cabral and the valedictory, Jennifer Santana-Montero. Diplomas were presented to 53 graduates.
Pope John XXIII High School, Everett
The 50th and final commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 23, in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Kelly Phan Truong and the valedictory by Gianellis Annette Lopez. The prestigious Pacem in Terris Award was presented to Tiago Costa Xavier. Addressing the graduates was Paul Biancardi '80, national recruiting director for ESPN. Diplomas were presented to 90 graduates.
Presentation of Mary Academy, Methuen
Graduation took place on Friday, May 24. Sophia Bellia delivered the salutatory address and McKenzie Ferrari, the valedictory. Addressing the graduates as commencement speaker was Susan Viscosi, chair of the English Department. Diplomas were presented to 61 graduates.
Sacred Heart High School, Kingston
Graduation took place on Friday, May 24. Delivering the salutatorian address was Abigail Morse and the valedictory, Emily Finn. Also addressing the graduates was class president Thomas Mortimer and retiring Principal Michael Gill. Diplomas were presented to 39 graduates.
St. John Prep, Danvers
The 109th commencement took place on Sunday morning, May 19. Members of the Class of 1969 and faculty and staff greeted the graduates as they filed into Ryken Field. Nathan Brown delivered the salutatory address and Conner Goodwin the valedictory. Carlos Ferreira, chosen by his classmates, delivered the student address. Also addressing the graduates as commencement speaker was English teacher and three-sport coach John Klein. The prestigious Xaverian Award was presented to Derek Walsh. Diplomas were presented to 274 graduates.
St. Joseph Preparatory High School, Brighton
The seventh commencement took place on Thursday, June 6, at Robsham Theatre at Boston College. Delivering the salutatory address was Sarah Gyurmey and the valedictory, Daniel Lotti. Addressing the graduates was State Rep. Kevin G. Honan. Diplomas were presented to 99 graduates.
St. Mary High School, Lynn
Graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 23, at Lynn City Hall. Codi Butt delivered the salutatory address and Grace Fielding, the valedictory. Addressing the graduates was Jeffrey Newhall '94. Diplomas were presented to 124 graduates.
St. Sebastian, Needham
The 75th commencement took place Thursday, June 6. Salutatorian was Jared H. Price and valedictorian was John H. Randall. Addressing the graduates was Father Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P. Diplomas were presented to 67 graduates.
Ursuline Academy, Dedham
Graduation took place on Sunday afternoon, June 2, on the grounds of the school. Lauren Grela delivered the salutatory address and Molly Treseler, the valedictory. Dr. Jennifer Baima '93 addressed the graduates. Diplomas were presented to 68 graduates.
Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood
The 53rd commencement took place on Saturday morning, May 18, in the Wellness Center complex. Delivering the salutatory address was Mark Pioch and the valedictory, Connor Roukey. The prestigious Xaverian Award was presented to Lucas Ferraro. Diplomas were presented to 185 graduates.
