As the school year comes to an end, The Pilot congratulates all the members of the class of 2016 who graduated from Catholic high schools within the Archdiocese of Boston. This year's roundup of commencement exercises is presented alphabetically by school.

Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro

The 162nd commencement took place on Sunday, June 5. Emily Masse delivered the salutatory address and Emily Francis, the valedictory address. Rosemary Noon '75 was guest speaker. Helen Kay, principal, presented diplomas to 38 graduates.

Archbishop Williams High School, Braintree

The 64th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Sarah Golden and the valedictory by Jonathan Hamilton. Braintree Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan addressed the graduates. Michael Volonnino, principal, presented diplomas to 123 graduates.

Arlington Catholic High School

Commencement took place on Thursday, May 26 at Bentley College. Delivering the salutatory address was Daniel Caron and the valedictory, his sister, Laura Kathryn Caron. Alumnus Mark Estee '88 addressed the graduates. Diplomas were presented to 155 graduates.

Austin Prep, Reading

The 50th commencement took place on Saturday, June 4. Victoria M. McDermott delivered the salutatory address and Emma C. Tilley, the valedictory. An invited speaker addressing the graduates was Boston Herald Editor-in-Chief and class of 1975 alumnus Joe Sciacca. Members of the first four-year class that graduated in 1966 attended the ceremony as well. Headmaster James Hickey presented diplomas to 141 graduates.

Bishop Fenwick High School, Peabody

The 54th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 20 on the grounds of the football stadium. The salutatory address was presented by Matthew Loehle and the valedictory by Christina Zoldac. Brother Tom Zoppo, principal, presented diplomas to 107 seniors.

Boston College High School

The 152nd commencement took place on Sunday, May 22 in McNiece Pavilion. The salutatory address was presented by Trent J. Chinnaswamy and the valedictory by John D. O'Donnell. Delivering the commencement address was General Joseph F. Dunford, '73, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Stephen P. Hughes, principal, presented diplomas to 305 graduates. Members of the class of 1966 were also in attendance and were presented golden jubilee diplomas.

Cardinal Spellman High School, Brockton

Graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 26 on the grounds of Potvin Field. The salutatory address was presented by Evan Mullaney and the valedictory by Melissa Forrand. Class president Shannon McDonnell also addressed the class. Paul Kelly, principal, presented diplomas to 152 graduates.

Cathedral High School, Boston

The 86th commencement took place at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Saturday morning, May 14. The salutatory address was presented by Francis P. Lubega and the valedictory by Taylor Marie Driscoll. Dr. Oscar Santos, head of the school, presented diplomas to 46 graduates. Members of the Class of 1966 attended and were recognized during the ceremony.

Catholic Memorial High School, West Roxbury

The 56th commencement took place at Holy Name Church on Thursday afternoon, May 26. The salutatory address was presented by Michael A. Lula and the valedictory by Brian C. Harrington. Peter F. Folan, president, presented diplomas to 123 graduates.

Central Catholic High School, Lawrence

The 78th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 in Memorial Gymnasium. Two students served as salutatorians: Peter M. Graziano and Dawson K. Shyne. The valedictory address was presented by Margaret R. Devlin. Members of the Class of 1966 attended the ceremony. Brother Richard Carey, president, presented diplomas to 341 graduates.

Cristo Rey Boston, Dorchester

Graduation took place on Saturday morning, June 11 at Boston College High School. The salutatory address was presented by Britania Guerra and the valedictory by Rachel Bencosme. John Barros, Chief of Economic Development for the City of Boston was guest speaker. Jay MacDonald, president, presented diplomas to 75 graduates.

Elizabeth Seton Academy, Dorchester

The 12th commencement took place at Boston College High School on Thursday evening, May 26. Delivering the salutatory address was Caitlin Darcy and the valedictory, Maya Kristine Alexander. An invited speaker for the occasion was State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry. Delayed at the State House, her speech was read by academy trustee Frances Birmingham. Michael C. Bonina, principal, presented diplomas to 29 graduates.

Fontbonne Academy, Milton

Under a tent erected for the happy occasion on the grounds of the school, the graduation took place on Thursday evening, May 26. Addressing their classmates as honor speakers were Ariana Matos and Meaghan Walsh. Two members of the class of 1966, Helen Deschenes Flaherty and Marilyn Toomey Penta, were guest speakers. Diplomas were presented to 93 graduates.

Lowell Catholic High School

The 27th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 27 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. Sam Curley delivered the salutatory address and Alex DiCiaccio, the valedictory. Mary Ellen DeMarco, principal, presented diplomas to 114 graduates.

Malden Catholic High School, Malden

The 81st commencement took place on Saturday, May 21 in the school gymnasium. The salutatory address was presented by Colin Myles Harvey and the valedictory by Edward D. Lucio Tan. Tom Doherty, headmaster, presented diplomas to 140 graduates.

Marian High School, Framingham

Graduation took place on Friday, May 27 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Erin Condon and the valedictory by Kathryn Brady, who was also class president. Members of the class of 1966 attended as John Ermilio presented diplomas to 63 graduates.

Matignon High School, Cambridge

Commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 in the school assembly hall. Peter Aliberti delivered the salutatory address and Margaret Barrett, the valedictory. Members of the class of 1966 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas. Joe DiSarcina, principal, presented diplomas to 117 graduates.

Mt. Alvernia High School, Newton

The 77th commencement took place on Saturday afternoon, May 21 on the grounds of the school. Bethan Martin delivered the salutatory address and Samantha Ricci, the valedictory address. Eileen McLaughlin, principal, presented diplomas to 46 graduates.

Newton Country Day School, Newton

Under a tent on the grounds of the school, the 136th commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 9. The salutatorian was Catherine Page and the valedictorian was Elizabeth Erler. Also addressing the class as student speaker was Carly Sullivan. An invited guest speaker was Dr. Henry Rosovsky, Professor Emeritus of Economics at Harvard University and grandfather of graduate Abigail Rosovsky. Diplomas were presented to 66 graduates.

Notre Dame Academy, Hingham

The 163rd commencement took place on Friday evening, May 20 on the grounds of the school. Delivering the student address was Hannah Volpe. The salutatory address was presented by Allison Ferreira and the valedictory by Meghan Fox. Delivering the commencement address was Dr. Cheryl Rosa '88. Principal Kathleen Colin presented diplomas to 130 graduates.

Notre Dame Cristo Rey, Lawrence

Graduation took place on Saturday morning, June 11 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. The salutatory address was presented by Han-Gia Pham and the valedictory by Yaznairy Maria Cabrera. Diplomas were presented to 60 graduates.

Pope John XXIII High School, Everett

The 46th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 in the school assembly hall. This year, there were two co-valedictorians addressing the class: Kathy Nguyen and Samantha Chen. Dr. Tom Ryan, head of the school presented diplomas to 46 graduates.

Presentation of Mary Academy, Methuen

The 55th commencement took place on Friday, May 27 in the Dupre Center at the school. Lindsey Gill delivered the salutatory address and Robert Pauley the valedictory. Head of school Marie Rose DiFiore Redman '85 was the commencement speaker and presented diplomas to 47 graduates.

Sacred Heart High School, Kingston

Graduation took place on Friday, May 27 in the school assembly hall. The salutatory address was presented by Alexa Bitterman and the valedictory by Ben Novak. Michael Gill, principal, presented diplomas to 61 graduates.

St. Clement High School, Medford

Graduation took place on Friday evening, May 27 at St. Clement Church. This year, there were two valedictorians addressing the class: Alyssa Carla Yenowskas and Adrianna Kinney. Robert Chevrier, principal, presented diplomas to 35 graduates.

St. Joseph Preparatory High School, Brighton

The fourth commencement took place on Thursday evening, June 2 at Robsham Theatre on the campus of Boston College. Dong Su Kim delivered the salutatory address and two students, Anna A. Daher and Sarah Ann Murphy delivered the valedictory address. Tom Nunan, head of the school, presented diplomas to 41 graduates. The class this year was the first to complete all four years since the school was established in September 2012 at the site of the former Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton.

St. Sebastian's School, Needham

The 72nd commencement took place on Thursday morning, June 2 at St. Bartholomew Church in Needham. Paul J. Keady delivered the salutatory address and James P. Ryan, the valedictory. Father John Unni, pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in the Back Bay delivered the commencement address. Headmaster William L. Burke presented diplomas to 62 graduates.

St. John's Preparatory School, Danvers

The 106th commencement took place on Sunday morning, May 22 on the grounds of the school in a tent erected for the happy occasion. Michael Terranove delivered the salutatory address and two students were valedictorians: Benjamin Fischer and Dylan Lyu. The prestigious Xaverian Award was presented to Kevin Doherty. Delivering the commencement address was Eric Kimble, a member of the class of 1985 and English teacher at the school. Headmaster Edward Hardiman presented diplomas to 280 graduates.

St. Mary High School, Lynn

The 134th commencement took place on Thursday evening, May 26 at Lynn City Hall. Aislinn Flaherty McCormack presented the salutatory address and Christina Marie Hallisey the valedictory. Graduates of the class of 1966 and Lynn City officials attended the ceremony as Grace Cotter Regan, Head of the School, presented diplomas to 98 graduates.

Ursuline Academy, Dedham

The threat of rain moved the ceremony to St. Mary Church in Dedham on Sunday afternoon, June 5. The salutatory address was presented by Kristina Ferrara and the valedictory by Erin Grela. Rosann Whiting, president, presented diplomas to 82 graduates.

Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood

The 50th commencement took place on Friday evening, May 21 on the grounds of the football field. The salutatory address was presented by Kerim Saraoglu and the valedictory by Peter Moynihan. The Xaverian Award was presented to William Lahart. Brother Dan Skala, headmaster presented diplomas to 185 graduates.
