2016 Co-Workers Conference will focus on media in evangelization
WATERTOWN -- This year's Co-Workers in the Vineyard Conference, an annual conference sponsored by St. John's Seminary in Brighton, will give attendees the opportunity to attend panels and lectures by members of the Catholic media through its theme "The Pope Francis Effect and Media: Pastoral Applications for Evangelization and Discipleship," April 1.
After beginning the day with a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley and remarks offered by Father Robert Connors, pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Father Edward Riley, director of Pastoral Formation and Dean of Men at St. John's Seminary, and Dr. Aldona Lingertat, director of the Master of Arts in Ministry Program and vice president of Administration for the Theological Institute, attendees will be able to sit in on two keynote talks.
Father Thomas Rosica and Sebastian Gomes, of Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation in Toronto, Canada, will give the first keynote together. Father Rosica is the CEO of Salt and Light, and Gomes is a producer.
Father Robert Reed, president and CEO of iCatholic Media, Inc., the parent company of The CatholicTV, will give the second keynote.
Three breakout sessions will be offered afterwards, and attendees will be able to choose one activity to participate in, such as a tour of CatholicTV, lunch, or a social media panel, during each session. Choices may be made upon registration for the conference.
A panel discussion, called Media Resources for Spiritual Growth, and a closing prayer from Father Connors will bring the conference to a close at 3:00 p.m.
More information on the conference, including the schedule and registration information is available at the St. John's Seminary website, www.sjs.edu.
