Wrentham nun helps rescue man pinned under tree
WRENTHAM, Mass. (AP) -- A 74-year-old man who was pinned underneath a tree in Wrentham was rescued with the help of a nun.
Police say they received a call around 4 p.m. Jan. 30 from a nun reporting that a man was yelling for help in the woods near Mount St. Mary's Abbey.
The abbey in Wrentham is near the Rhode Island border and is home to an order of nuns best known for making Trappistine Quality Candy.
Police found Douglas Goldman in the woods not far from his home. He told police he was cutting down a tree with a chainsaw when the tree fell on his leg.
He was taken to Boston Medical Center for a leg injury and hypothermia. There's no word on his condition.
Police did not identify the nun.
