SOUTH END -- At a Nov. 15 Mass for the victims of Friday's Attacks in Paris, France, Father Kevin O'Leary, Rector of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, read a message from Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley who is in Baltimore for the annual Fall Bishop's meeting.



The liturgy brought members of the Greater Boston community together in prayer to remember the victims of Friday's attacks in Paris and to pray for peace.





CARDINAL'S MESSAGE



November 15, 2105



The Archdiocese of Boston extends heartfelt prayer and solidarity to Cardinal André Vingt-Trois, Archbishop of Paris following the horrendous terrorist attack on innocent citizens in Paris. We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of all who lost their lives, all who were wounded, to the people of the Paris and to all of France.



There is absolutely no justification for the heinous actions which took place in Paris this past Friday. We decry all such violence, which serves only to cause pain and suffering on the part of all who are directly impacted and the international community. May those who would strike out against others turn their hearts and minds to the peaceful resolution of disputes and embrace respect for the dignity and sanctity of the lives of all people.



At this time of mourning, we call upon the grace and strength given by Jesus Christ, trusting that those who perished in the attacks are welcomed into His blessed presence. May they rest in peace as we stand together in their memory.
