Leone honored by Bethany Health Care
Sister Jacquelyn McCarthy, CSJ, CEO/Administrator of Bethany Health Care Center, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and the Making a Difference co-chairs Bob Boyle and Henry Luthin presented Gerry Leone Jr., a partner with Nixon Peabody LLP and former Middlesex Massachusetts District Attorney, with Bethany Health Care Center's third annual "Making a Difference" Award, Nov. 5.
The award celebration, held at the Boston Marriott, Copley Place, was emceed by Susan Wornick, WCVB-TV News Anchor and member of Team 5 Investigates. The "Making a Difference" Award honors individuals who have been instruments for helping to change and improve individual lives and communities and are committed to the mission of Bethany Health Care Center. In addition to dedicating himself to protecting and serving others in public service, Leone's philanthropic leadership has served both families and youth.
Those paying tribute to Leone included Eugene L. O'Flaherty, corporation counsel of the City of Boston representing Mayor Martin J. Walsh; Paul C. Dawley, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts District Courts; Thomas F. Reilly of Manion Gaynor and Manning LLP and former Massachusetts Attorney General; and James Vallee, partner at Nixon Peabody LLP and former House Majority Leader.
