Mr. David M. Thorp, who for the past several months has been the Director of the archdiocesan initiative Catholics Come Home died suddenly on Jan. 9. He is a familiar face to many across the archdiocese not only in his promotion of Catholics Come Home, but in several previous positions he held as Director of Charismatic Renewal Services, Office of Evangelization, and Director of Evangelization at St. Patrick Parish, Natick; and Assistant of the Marian Community Spiritual Life Center, Medway. He was the husband of Barbara Thorp, presently the Director of the Office for Pastoral Support and Child Protection and once Director of the Pro-life Office. He was the father of three and a proud grandfather. Vigil for the deceased will be Friday, Jan. 14 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Edward Church, 133 Spring Street, Medfield. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Jan. 15 at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Edward Church. Cardinal Seán O'Malley is expected to preside at the funeral Mass.
