Kathryn Davis joins Mass. Catholic Conference

The board of governors of the Massachusetts Catholic Conference (MCC) announced that Kathryn M. Davis has been appointed to the position of Public Policy Coordinator. The board of governors of the MCC includes the Archbishop of Boston and the bishops from the Dioceses of Fall River, Springfield and Worcester.

The MCC is the official representative of the four Roman Catholic dioceses in the Commonwealth on public policy issues. It not only addresses specific legislative proposals and administrative procedures, but reflects and educates the public on human and social moral issues that affect the common good.

Kathy is a graduate of Regis College in Weston, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. She earned her Masters in Education from Plymouth State University, in Plymouth, N.H.

Kathy’s educational experience included working as a graduate and teaching assistant at Hanover High School and Plymouth State University, both in New Hampshire. At the Becket Family of Services, in New Hampshire, Kathy counseled court adjudicated youth and teenagers who had witnessed domestic violence. At New Hope Inc., in Attleboro, Taunton and Webster, she worked with children who had witnessed and/or experienced domestic violence. During the mid 90’s and over the past year, Kathy was the legislative aide to State Representative John Lepper who represented various wards in the town of Attleboro, and who has since retired. As an aide to the representative, Kathy worked with many government, private and non-profit agencies to develop linkages and collaborative efforts on behalf of the people of Attleborough.
