With a unanimous vote of the school’s board of trustees, Fontbonne Academy recently named Anne Malone as the second president in the school’s history. A 1969 graduate of the school and the first lay person to hold this post, Malone will officially take office as of July 1.

A resident of Milton and a graduate of Fontbonne Academy, Malone attended Regis College earning her B.A. in English. She went on to Indiana University where she earned her M.A. and later her Ph.D. in English.

She most recently served as vice president for development and external affairs for Pine Street Inn.

Fontbonne Academy, sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, is a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women. Fontbonne Academy commits to fostering Gospel values and educational excellence. This inclusive community embraces diversity in many forms. Founded in September 1954, Fontbonne Academy is in the midst of celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.
