Sunday, Oct. 8, 7-8:30 p.m. EDT (EWTN) "Holy Mass Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Yellow Fever Epidemic." This Eucharistic liturgy, broadcast from Shreveport, Louisiana, recalls the third-worst epidemic of Yellow Fever in United States history during which five Catholic priests who are currently candidates for beatification laid down their lives in service to the sick (TV-G – general audience).
Monday, Oct. 9, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. EDT (EWTN) "Holy Mass on the Feast of St. John Henry Newman." Broadcast from the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham in the U.K., this Eucharistic liturgy commemorates the great English theologian and cardinal who died in 1890, aged 89, and was canonized in 2019 (TV-G – general audience). Monday, Oct. 9, 10-11:30 p.m. EDT (PBS) "El Equipo." Filmmaker Bernardo Ruiz's documentary recounts how an unlikely collaboration changed the course of forensic science and affected international human rights. An "Independent Lens" presentation (TV-14/V – parents strongly cautioned; intense violence).
Wednesday, Oct. 11, 10-11 p.m. EDT (PBS) "The Sunken Basilica."
